As I reflect on the thwarting of a terrorist attack involving twenty-one Islamic radicals, I remain mindful of the threat that our nation is facing.
It is completely irrelevant what one’s opinion concerning Iraq is. The aforesaid plot sent the signal that while they may not always be accurate, the Bush administration’s position is correct. These savage killers cannot be negotiated into peace. They hate us and they will stop at nothing to cause us unimaginable harm.
If these six years and ultimately eight years have taught us only one useful fact, let it be this… We cannot talk to terrorists. They don’t know our names, they don’t get personal, and they don’t care. They don’t wish to speak to one of us; they want to kill dozens or hundreds of us. Killing one person would be a waste of a bomb.
